Irina Melnik, MD
Sports Medicine Specialist
Dr. Melnik completed her internship in General Surgery and residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Stanford University Hospital, and fellowship training in interventional spine and pain in Honolulu, HI. Dr. Melnik specializes in interventional spinal procedures, pain management, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, electrodiagnosis/EMG, treatment of sports and work related injuries as well as regenerative and complementary medicine.
Dr. Melnik has conductive collaborative research projects with and presented educational lectures to Stanford’s PM &R residents and Spine fellows.
She has been a guest on several regional radio programs in California and Hawaii on the subject of interventional and regenerative treatment of back pain.
She has co-authored several research articles and book chapters, including the latest submitted 2nd edition of “Decision Making in Spinal Care”, D. Anderson, A. Vaccaro, and a chapter on ‘Intradiscal Thermal Therapies’ in “Evidence-Based Management of Low Back Pain”, S. Dagenais, S. Haldeman, 2012.
